Apologies

I'm sorry for the lack of posts, I have been really busy the past few months because WE ARE GETTING MARRIED ON 06/01/13 which is less than a month! Yes yes I know, changes again almost 6 months ahead of our initial date but this time it is for a good reason.

Everything stays the same,  venues and vendors have all managed to accommodate my new date which is pretty awesome of them. Everything is pretty much done, not much left to do other than some miscellaneous things and well a couple of important things as well lol

There are so many things I can update on but the list would go on forever and I'm lazy haha if I managed to get some free time before the wedding I will blog again if not I will see you after the wedding/honeymoon :)

More updates

Hello there!

That's the emcee of our reception and the wedding cake done!

We have engaged a bilingual emcee by the name of Sylvia :)

Our wedding cake will consist of a 7" top tier with full fresh white roses and 200 cupcakes, there will be takeaway boxes just in case any of yous don't wanna have them at the reception :)

Right now I'm trying to engage a Justice of Peace for our solemnization but not too sure if it's a little too early lol giving him a call tomorrow to see what he thinks :)

Oh and my designer has started on my ceremony dress, just finished choosing the materials for the dress not too long ago that's why it is taking a little longer apparently my reception dress is almost done :)

Can't wait to see the real thing :)

Love love,

Venues

Hiya baby dolls,

We have finalised our wedding venues! Actually its been finalised for a few weeks now but meh been a busy few weeks so I didn't have time to update you guys, well whoever is reading that is lol (<----- speaking of which I actually had a pretty bad ass car crash a few days ago in Malaysia but I'm fine not so much for my car tho, its wrecked by that moron and now its gonna take forever to claim his insurance GRRR)

Okay, enough of that let's me update you with the venues!

CEREMONY

It will be held at Burkill Hall in Botanics Garden Orchard, we are thinking about 4pm that the ceremony will start in the lawn followed by the tea ceremony at the upper level of the building. Not much details have been decided yet so well that's all I know now, I will definitely update when I know more.

The lawn, well ofc my theme will be different :)

This is how Burkill Hall looks like, this is where my tea ceremony will be held on the upper level.

RECEPTION

Crowne Plaza Changi is where the reception will be held, I know it's a little far but it is one of the only venue that allows a smaller 'minimum' tables number since we don't have that many guests and it's high ceiling and pillar-less which looks really good plus they offered a really good deal for us so we decided Crowne Plaza it is. Don't worry we will be catering coaches to pick up and send guests off at certain location around Singapore so it's easier for guests without transport :)
Dinner will start at 8pm but canapes/drinks will start serving at 7pm, we have looked through the menu but haven't decided exactly what we are serving (definitely not shark's fin tho, "Say No to Shark Fin") we do however know we will be serving Chinese as Craig's friends and family only covers 20% of the guest list.

Crowne Plaza Changi

Okie dokie people, that's the basic updates on the venues. Once more stuff have been decided I will update more!

Love,

Rough idea

Because Craig is Scottish and I'm Chinese, this is our idea of how the wedding will proceed.
Traditionally in a Chinese wedding, Groom will have to pick the Bride up from her house (usually gate crash) before proceeding back to the Groom's house for tea ceremony this is the first place it clashes with his culture that groom only sees the bride when she walks down the aisle.
So Craig and I decided NO GATE CRASH (yes, be disappointed Yoshiko) we will both be staying at the hotel where our reception is held and I will only see him when I walk down the aisle. We will however still have the tea ceremony after the solemnization which is to respect my culture.
Instead of Suit he will be wearing his Kilt to honor his culture during the wedding and the rest is pretty much the regular wedding whereby after ceremony we will be having reception, our first dance blah blah blah
And we will fly off for our honeymoon maybe within the first 2 weeks after the wedding :)

22/6/13

It's been more than a year since I last blogged.

As you can see I have 'drafted' all my previous post so I get a new start to this blog and I have decided to use it as my wedding blog in a way that I will use it mostly to update about my wedding progress.

First, you ask "I thought you should have been married like on 12/11/11 or like 24/6/12? What wedding you talking about now?"

Here's my answer.

When we first got engaged, we planned to have the wedding on 12/11/11 which frankly was only 18months away then and I guess we weren't really ready because we didn't try and save money or plan anything seriously that's when things go wrong. By Jan'11 we knew we won't have enough money and nothing was planned.

We thought just push it a little further then it will be fine and hence chose 24/6/12, 7 months later than the previous date. This time more things came up, first was the fact that things became rocky between us for 1.5 months (May'11) so much so that we almost broke up but we managed to work it through and we are more in love and sure of this marriage than ever, BUT things never did sail smoothly after as problems came up with his work (he was offer a job in Dubai) we didn't know if we could proceed with wedding or it's put on hold again. Things didn't become clearer till Feb this year, that's when we knew the relocation won't happen for at least another year BUT again it was too late to plan anything.

SO NOW, we have decided on the date 22/6/13 where we promise no more changes no more excuses whether we relocate or not 22/6/13 we are getting married!

Secondly, 22/6/13? Why so far back this time you ask?

We (or I) have worked out our budget and it is about 100k for the entire wedding, we should have no problem saving that in a year plus if we were disciplined enough and so far for these 2 months we have done well!

I guess most people do know Craig is the only one working and I manage the household, and this wedding is FULLY FUNDED by us (our parents will not be chipping in) so a 100k wedding might not be as grand and fancy but for two 22yr olds it is pretty awesome, that's why we need a year plus to save this amount.

Lastly, "How about all the things you bought before and booked for the wedding?"
I have forfeited most of my deposit for the vendors previously so that's a bummer, and we will not using any of the dresses/suits/things we bought before as we want this to be a fresh start so I'm buying new gowns he's buying new suits and other stuff ;)

Okie dokie, I don't think I have anymore issue to address so see you next time when I have an update on the wedding!
