22/6/13

It's been more than a year since I last blogged.

As you can see I have 'drafted' all my previous post so I get a new start to this blog and I have decided to use it as my wedding blog in a way that I will use it mostly to update about my wedding progress.

First, you ask "I thought you should have been married like on 12/11/11 or like 24/6/12? What wedding you talking about now?"

Here's my answer.

When we first got engaged, we planned to have the wedding on 12/11/11 which frankly was only 18months away then and I guess we weren't really ready because we didn't try and save money or plan anything seriously that's when things go wrong. By Jan'11 we knew we won't have enough money and nothing was planned.

We thought just push it a little further then it will be fine and hence chose 24/6/12, 7 months later than the previous date. This time more things came up, first was the fact that things became rocky between us for 1.5 months (May'11) so much so that we almost broke up but we managed to work it through and we are more in love and sure of this marriage than ever, BUT things never did sail smoothly after as problems came up with his work (he was offer a job in Dubai) we didn't know if we could proceed with wedding or it's put on hold again. Things didn't become clearer till Feb this year, that's when we knew the relocation won't happen for at least another year BUT again it was too late to plan anything.

SO NOW, we have decided on the date 22/6/13 where we promise no more changes no more excuses whether we relocate or not 22/6/13 we are getting married!

Secondly, 22/6/13? Why so far back this time you ask?

We (or I) have worked out our budget and it is about 100k for the entire wedding, we should have no problem saving that in a year plus if we were disciplined enough and so far for these 2 months we have done well!

I guess most people do know Craig is the only one working and I manage the household, and this wedding is FULLY FUNDED by us (our parents will not be chipping in) so a 100k wedding might not be as grand and fancy but for two 22yr olds it is pretty awesome, that's why we need a year plus to save this amount.

Lastly, "How about all the things you bought before and booked for the wedding?"
I have forfeited most of my deposit for the vendors previously so that's a bummer, and we will not using any of the dresses/suits/things we bought before as we want this to be a fresh start so I'm buying new gowns he's buying new suits and other stuff ;)

Okie dokie, I don't think I have anymore issue to address so see you next time when I have an update on the wedding!
